Similar to PARKMUSIC in 1996 and 1997, this year's PARKMUSIC featured once again cross over.
The first concert of ethnologic character dealt with traditional Chinese music in connection with "Werkstatt der Kulturen" (workshop of cultures) / Berlin. The two soloists of the duo Drache (dragon) Wu Wei, (Chinese sheng and erhu) and Fu Renchang (zheng) are first-class musicians. They were really working their magic on the audience with incredible virtuosity and charisma.

The second
concert offered
music by Giacinto Scelsi, the mystic of Italian composers of the 20th century, intensely performed by the renowned guitarist of New Music Wilhelm Bruck (in combination with dancing), John Cage (on natural materials), Claude Debussy as well as a vanguard sound performance with the internationally renowned interpreter Valérie Scherstjanoi from Kasachstan. His eloquence exceeded all expectations and did not only leave everyone astonished but it also evoked the occasional laughter.

As in the previous two years, the third concert dealt with visual things: the home-made and extended instruments by Stefan Froleyks, Cleves were evidence of a lot of imagination and the sound objects by Zoro Babel, Munich turned into little pieces of music theatre.
